I was wrong. Perhaps a warning for idiots like me would be appropriate in the MSI installer file? Normally this wouldn't be a problem. I figured I'd just start up Control Panel and change the postgres account password.
Unfortunately, Windows XP Home doesn't provide any obvious tools to change a system account password. I only know how to change user account passwords. Control Panel's User Accounts tool is useless for this problem. I uninstalled PostgreSQL, thinking that reinstalling it might help. Asked 8 years, 9 months ago. Active 8 years, 8 months ago. Any help is appreciated, thanks. Improve this question. PostgreSQL has a Windows installer. I am aware that PostgreSQL has a Windows installer but one of the requirements for this project i'm trying to do is to install it as a service on Cygwin.
That page at smartpixie. Did you try just installing through the Cygwin package manager? Can i use the package manager to install postgreSQL as a service? If so, any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
